Cirkuliranje in cooperation with Farbika Fotografa launch an international photo competition called: “My Neighborhood With My Camera”, a part of the wider BANAT – EUROPEAN CULTURAL CENTER project. Partners in this project are photo clubs (Vršac and Belgrade), universities and individuals.
The idea of the project itself is the social connection of people, which is now emphasized in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, which imposed physical distancing. “Technology is so advanced at the moment that we can be connected in multiple ways without being physically in the same room or physically in the same space with humans,” says WHO epidemiologist Maria Van Kerkhove.
We communicate through photography, with no age or location restrictions. Photography enthusiasts have the opportunity to show their knowledge of photography and be part of an international project. We are planning more selections of works, and the first deadline for submission is June 30, 2020. and the Cirkuliranje Festival, which is scheduled to take place in late June or early July, depending on events related to the imposed restrictions.
So far, more than 100 individuals have been involved in the Fabrika Fotografa’s project through online classes on “Self-Isolation”.
The project “BANAT – EUROPEAN CENTER OF CULTURE” deals with artistic creation and promotion of culture in the region, which with several units (art colonies, theater performances, music concerts, art workshops, education, public classes, forums, conferences) becomes a gathering place for creative thought and represents a modern manifesto of culture.
“My Neighborhood With My Camera” the competition is not funded and represents volunteer work and the contribution of all involved to make this world a little more beautiful and contribute to the socialization of people.
