Pupin’s Challenge building bridges of knowledge on September 9, 2023. in Timișoara. An international collaboration in the field of Information and Communication Technologies – ICT.
Our exciting journey through the Pupin’s Challenge 2023 season continues as the project expands its reach to Timișoara. On September 9, 2023, participants from Serbia and Romania came together for the next leg of this educational journey.
Bridging borders through technology
Previously, in collaboration with the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade, Pupin’s Challenge participated as a guest and partner in the presentation of the works of students from the Applied Physics and Electronics (PFE) section of the same school. This presentation was part of the National eTwinning Conference organized by the Tempus Foundation, with the theme “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence as Learning Tools.” This event, held in Belgrade, highlighted the innovative and educational potential of robotics and artificial intelligence.
Warm welcome and collaboration in Timișoara
The warmth and enthusiasm of the “Grigore Moisil” team from Timișoara, along with their students actively engaged in extracurricular activities related to robotics and competitions, set the tone for a productive gathering. This event facilitated communication between students and teachers from Serbia and Romania through video conferencing.
Dedicated future leaders and teachers
In Serbia, the team was led by Jovica Milosavljević, accompanied by students from the Mathematical Grammar School. Additionally, students from the “Nikola Tesla” Electrotechnical School in Pančevo, under the guidance of their dedicated teacher Aurel Gava, played a significant role in establishing this international collaboration.
Pupin’s Challenge methodology workshop
A workshop was held following the methodology used in the first part of this year’s competition, the Digital Challenge. The workshop was conducted by Milan Surla, an associate from the Regional Center for Talents “Mihajlo Pupin” in Pančevo and an integral part of the team. While the workshop was successful, there is a desire for further development, with expectations of more similar activities in the near future, completing the program of this workshop in the upcoming session.
Inspiration for future ICT leaders
The day concluded with a visit to the national robotics competition in Timișoara, known as the “Open Robotics Intelligent Grid 2023.” The atmosphere was exhilarating, with numerous teams demonstrating their skills. This is fertile ground for the future development of young talents in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). We took the opportunity to come together and support the team from the “Grigore Moisil” school.
What to expect next!
The collaboration between Serbia and Romania within Pupin’s Challenge is making significant strides. The next meeting is scheduled for October 21, 2023, at the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade. In the meantime, participants are eagerly awaiting further announcements, including long-awaited details about the finals, including expected prizes and competition guidelines.
