Pupin’s WEB3 Challenge: A Regional Competition at FON Hackathon functions as a fast-track WEB3 academy for students, combining workshops, mentorship, and hands-on learning, with the final hackathon as a public test of the knowledge gained throughout the program. This structure allows participants to develop practical skills and apply their knowledge in a competitive environment.

At the upcoming FON Hackathon, we are introducing an innovative track dedicated to blockchain, rebranded as the WEB3 Challenge within the FON Hackathon, organized in collaboration with FON’s new partner organization, Cirkuliranje. The WEB3 Challenge serves as the final knowledge assessment of the regional Pupin’s WEB3 Challenge project, offering students a unique opportunity to participate in innovative projects and competitions in WEB3 and blockchain technology.

Pupin’s WEB3 Challenge is organized by Cirkuliranje, BuildGuild, FONIS, and the Faculty of Organizational Sciences as a track within the FON Hackathon. This event provides a unique opportunity for students from across the region to dive into the exciting world of WEB3 and blockchain technologies, collaborating with faculties, companies, and experts from the WEB3 ecosystem.

Key Dates for Pupin’s WEB3 Challenge:

– November 5th, 6 p.m. CET: Kickoff workshop on WEB3 and blockchain technologies.

– November – December: A series of 5 weekly workshops with homework assignments.

– February 2025: Intensive boot camp to refresh skills and form teams.

– March 2025: Finals – Pupin’s WEB3 hackathon as a dedicated track within the FON Hackathon.

What to Expect from Pupin’s WEB3 Challenge:

– Innovative Collaboration at the FON Hackathon: As a new track within the FON Hackathon, the WEB3 Challenge will serve as an exciting finale, following the activities of the WEB3 Academy, all within the scope of Pupin’s WEB3 Challenge.

– Five-Day Curriculum & Expert Support: Starting on November 5th, this five-day curriculum will rapidly enhance participants’ skills in building a full-stack dApp on Ethereum, covering smart contracts in Solidity, frontend integration, blockchain interaction, and deployment using Web3 tools, with Scaffold-ETH as the foundational development framework.

– Regional Collaboration: Participants from Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, and North Macedonia will form teams, collaborate, and develop projects, gaining technical skills and networking opportunities through international collaboration.

– Workshops & Homework: During the 5-session workshop series through December, participants will work on homework assignments to strengthen what they’ve learned.

– Boot Camp & Team Formation: Before the final hackathon in March 2025, we’ll organize an intensive boot camp to refresh participants’ knowledge and enable team formation.

– Finale at FON Hackathon: The concluding Pupin’s WEB3 hackathon will take place in March 2025 as part of the FON Hackathon, giving teams a chance to publicly test their skills and creativity.
