Cirkuliranje Connects the Banat Region. Visit to Politehnica & Vest University and CoderDojo in Timișoara – Advancing Regional Collaboration
Representing the Civil society union Cirkuliranje, which actively connects the region through culture and education, Vladislav Petković, founder and coordinator of Cirkuliranje, visited the Faculty of Automation and Computing at the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, together with Dušan Barać, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. The visit aimed to build long-term cooperation between the Politechnica and FON, with Cirkuliranje as a supportive civil sector partner.
The visit took place in a warm and collegial atmosphere. The guests toured the faculty’s premises, explored its infrastructure and facilities, and visited an exhibition of historical computers and technical equipment.
The meeting highlighted the strong potential for cooperation in education and the application of digital technologies, with complementary approaches in teaching, research, and practical implementation.
Planned steps include academic exchange, joint events and initiatives, and participation in international conferences. Cirkuliranje will support this collaboration by engaging regional stakeholders through its existing networks.
There is a shared intention to include students, professors, and experts in future activities and to strengthen the connection between academic institutions and civil society.
During the visit, operational talks were also continued with representatives of the Vest University of Timișoara, with whom Cirkuliranje is developing concrete cooperation plans, led in part by long-standing collaborator and expert Alexandra Petcu.
No visit to Timișoara would be complete without connecting with the CoderDojo community. A meeting with Radu Ticiu and talented young individuals known as “ninjas” further reinforced the mission of Cirkuliranje to support the development of the IT ecosystem in the Banat region and foster cooperation between institutions and communities across borders.
