Another edition of the Cirkuliranje Festival, which was held from June 17 to 19, was successfully concluded in Vršac.
The BECK – Banat European Cultural Center platform was visited by guests from as far away as New Zealand, as well as the delegation of the European Capital of Culture (ECoC) 2023 from Timisoara, where Cirkuliranje negotiated cooperation with projects at the international level.
Friday began with the unique exhibition “Three Greats”. The works of the three most important painters of the Kovačica naive art were presented: Zuzana Halupova, Martin Jonaš and Jan Husarik. In the public class a great trio was featured: Boško Nedeljkov and Marija Raspir from the Naiva Art Association from Kovačica and art historian Jarmila Ćendić. They brought the world of naive art closer to the public in a magnificent way.
On the same evening, in the continuation of the program – “Summer begins with jazz” – a great concert of young jazz musicians, students of the music school “Josif Marinkovic” from Vršac, filled the warm June evening with beautiful jazzy sounds. The 10th anniversary of the jazz orchestra in the crowded garden of the Meeting Point in Vršac was also celebrated. We are sure that music lovers enjoyed jamming new generations of jazz musicians, who showed their incredible talent. In the garden of the former Army House (Dom Vojske), Cirkuranje also held a public music lesson with a guitar workshop featuring “Zvončići” music center.
The next day, the international photo colony and the 4th round of the “My Neighbourhood with My Camera” competition began with a morning coffee. The tasks were varied and delighted the participants of the photo colony with the beauties of the City of Vršac. The results of the photo colony and photo competition will be presented in the form of an exhibition and within Timisoara – European Capital of Culture 2023.
The evening hours took us to the Church of St. Gerhard (“Cathedral” in Vršac), to the concert “Classics in the Cathedral” where students of the Music School “Josif Marinković” from Vršac performed. As in previous editions, we believe that it was a real experience for music “gourmands” and a good opportunity to visit this magnificent building.
An exhibition of photographs “Self-isolation” was organized in the former Army House (Dom Vojske). This is an international exhibition, attended by the Fabrika fotografa from Belgrade, our official project partner.
We also saw “Monsters, polyps, dolphins …” – an exhibition of collages, which represent unusual works by Ivan Malušević from Belgrade.
For the festival finale, we had the opportunity to listen one very authentic surfer, the Pannonian surfer Goran Divljakov from Vršac. More than a good atmosphere followed the lecture of a man who was passionately dedicated to this sport and way of life.
We also had a talk with high school students and promoted PUPIN’S CHALLENGE – a project and competition in Information and Communication Technologies, another project of the Cirkuliranje Association.
We believe that we had one successful edition of Cirkuliranje Festival, where clearer plans were set for appearing in Timisoara in 2023 within the ECOC.
